WHO SHOULD UNDERGO A BODY LIFT?

IN PRACTICE

Pre-operative consultation

During the initial consultation, the surgeon assesses the after-effects of the weight loss. This assessment is used to plan the various surgical procedures (stomach, arms, thighs, breasts...).

Most often, the first procedure focuses on the stomach, buttocks and back. This is also known as’circular abdominoplasty.

The surgeon ensures that the patient's weight is stabilized and compatible with surgery.

In the case of an abdominal apron, the surgeon applies for a coverage to the Social Security.

A quotation is issued, including surgery and anaesthetist fees.

During the second consultation, pre-operative photos are taken. This consultation also allows the plastic surgeon answer the patient's final questions and plan the procedure.

The intervention

Surgery lasts between 3 and 4 hours. It is performed under general anesthesia.

The circular scar is hidden in the panties. It passes over the pubis and extends above the buttock line.

A liposuction can be performed in cases of persistent excess fat.

Dr. Djian uses absorbable sutures and the latest suturing techniques. Urgotouch laser treatment is also available.

A compression bandage is applied at the end of the operation. It is removed the day after surgery.

After the operation

It takes 2 to 4 days of hospitalization.

Pain is relieved by simple analgesics.

It is essential not to exert yourself, and not to sit at 90 degrees for 3 weeks (at the risk of disuniting the scar in the buttocks).

Healing takes approximately 3 weeks.

Control appointments with the plastic surgeon are scheduled at 1 week, 1 month, 3 months and 6 months.
