Quantum RF : raffermissement de la peau
Loose skin after pregnancy, weight loss or with age? Between conventional skincare and a cervico-facial lift, the Quantum RF delivers radiofrequency beneath the skin that tightens tissue and boosts collagen. Dr Jérémy Djian, plastic surgeon in Paris 16, explains how it works, what results to expect and the risks involved.
Your Questions
Frequently asked questions about Quantum RF
Is Quantum RF effective?
It is effective on mild to moderate laxity: heat contracts collagen fibers and stimulates the production of new collagen to tighten the skin. Results vary with age, skin thickness and the area treated, which is why a prior assessment is important.
Can Quantum RF remove fat?
No. It is not a weight-loss method. It acts on skin quality; fat is treated with liposuction, with which it is often combined so that the skin retracts over the new contour.
When are results visible and how long do they last?
Tightness is felt as soon as the procedure ends, then the result is refined over 3 to 6 months, sometimes up to 12. It is long-lasting but does not stop natural skin aging.
Does Quantum RF carry any risks?
The most common effects (swelling, firmness, numbness) are temporary. Rarer complications exist, including temporary injury to the lower lip nerve; they are minimized by choosing a qualified surgeon.
What should I do after the procedure?
Wear the prescribed compression garment, moisturize your skin, protect yourself from the sun, avoid saunas and steam rooms for a few days, and attend the follow-up appointments scheduled by your surgeon.
