Buttock lipofilling, also known as Brazilian Butt Lift or BBL, is a surgical procedure performed on the buttocks. plastic surgery in Parisliposuction of the abdomen, hips and thighs. The fat removed is then reinjected into the buttocks.

BUTTOCK LIPOFILLING: FOR WHOM?
The buttock lipofilling is a cosmetic surgery reserved for patients wishing to undergo increase in volume of the buttocks and fat reserves.
The Brazilian Butt lift is the ideal operation for all those who have the flat buttocks or sagging buttocks and available fat elsewhere.
It is the perfect operation for patients who wish to increase the buttock volume without the use of buttock implants and without buttock lift.
The main areas of fat removal during the liposuction are :
- Belly; ;
- Hips; ;
- Thighs: outside, inside and knees; ;
- The back.
Good skin quality is a prerequisite for a satisfactory aesthetic appearance.
In fact, patients with excess skin after significant weight loss are not good candidates for the Brazilian Butt lift. They are more suitable for buttock lifts (see FAQ).
BBL is the equivalent of breast lipofilling applied to the buttocks.
THE SURGICAL TECHNIQUE OF BUTTOCK LIPOFILLING
The plastic surgery takes place in the operating room under general anesthesia. Dr Djian operates at the plastic surgery clinic des Princes in Boulogne.
The patient returns to the clinic on an empty stomach on the morning of the operation.
The procedure lasts between 2h30 and 4H.
You'll need to get settled on your back, then on your stomach.
Doctor Djian practices a liposculpture of the buttocks and hips during liposuction.
The fat is processed to retain only the fat cells (adipocytes).
The fat injections in the buttocks respecting strict safety rules (see FAQ complications).
At the end of the procedure, a support panty is put in place (under the breasts down to the knees), to prevent swelling.
The pain is minor, comparable to aches and pains after a sports session.
Painkillers are prescribed, as well as anticoagulants in the case of thigh liposuction.
The patient usually spends one night at the clinic.
A prone position is recommended for the first few weeks.
IN PRACTICE
An initial surgical consultation is necessary to assess the feasibility of the Brazilian Butt lift.
The patient explains her wish to’buttock augmentation (the desired buttock size).
Dr. Djian performs a morphological analysis of the silhouette patient and assesses her fat reserves. This evaluation makes it possible to quantify the amount of fat which can be used for lipofilling. Depending on the results, he explains to the patient the outcome that can be expected from the operation.
The patient is given an estimate and an information sheet explaining the procedure.
A second appointment is used to schedule the plastic surgery to the clinic and take photos. These will enable us to compare before and after results.
An anaesthetic consultation and a biological check-up are also necessary.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT BUTTOCK LIPOFILLING
WHAT IF I DON'T HAVE MUCH FAT?
It is possible to liposculpture or lipomodelling. These operations help define the shape of buttocks by deepening the hips through liposuction around the buttocks to enhance them. Liposculpture removes any excess fat from the hips. saddlebags.
Even small quantities of recovered fat can be used for reinjection.
DOES THE RESULT LAST?
Reinjected fat behaves like a graft.
The result postoperative from buttock lipofilling is therefore long-lasting, unless the patient loses a lot of weight.
It is necessary to wait a few weeks to appreciate the final result, while the edema resorbs.
WHAT ARE THE RISKS OF BUTTOCK LIPOFILLING?
There is one main risk: fat embolism.
This corresponds to the passage of fat into the bloodstream. This complication can be very serious.
For this reason, the fat should be re-injected with care.
Re-injecting too much fat increases the pressure in the buttock and therefore the risk of fat embolism.
The surgeon respects certain anatomical rules to avoid injecting fat deep into the buttock, where the large vessels are located.
On the other hand, the risk of rejection is zero. In fact, the increase in buttocks by injection grease does not contain any foreign body. Only gravel from the patient's own body is injected.
BUTTOCK LIPOFILLING OR BUTTOCK IMPLANTS?
Buttock implants are a good solution when the patient has no fat resources.
Nevertheless, buttock implants are still associated with infectious complications. They must be renewed or removed after 10/15 years.
Dr. Djian does not perform buttock implants.
HOW DOES THE INJECTED FAT BEHAVE?
The injected grease loses around 30 % of its volume. This phenomenon is linked to fat grafting.
The result is long-lasting and evolves with the patient:
- If the patient is gaining weight: the buttocks may enlarge; ;
- If the patient loses weight: the buttocks may lose volume.
WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE WITH A BUTTOCK LIFT?
The buttock lift is a procedure that removes excess skin from the buttocks and back.
Buttock lift is indicated for patients who have undergone major weight loss, either through dieting or sleeve/bypass surgery.
Often, surgery combined with abdominoplasty is carried out: body lift (also known as circular dermolipectomy).
WHICH AREAS CAN BE LIPOSUCTIONED?
The main fat donor areas for the buttock lipofilling are :
