NYMPHOPLASTY IN PARIS (Reduction of the labia minora)

Nymphoplasty consists in reducing the size of the labia minora of the female sex. It is performed when the labia minora are enlarged due to excess skin or mucous membrane.

WHO SHOULD UNDERGO NYMPHOPLASTY?

The nymphoplasty,labioplasty or intimate surgery of women, is a cosmetic surgery in Paris to remove excess skin or mucous membrane from the female genitalia.

This surgical operation is performed on women with a hypertrophy of the labia minora vaginal. Enlargement of the labia majora can be :

  • Primitive (congenital): young woman.
  • Secondary, due to aging: older patient.

This phenomenon has several origins:

  • For some women, the labia minora protrude from the vulva. since their birth. This is congenital hypertrophy;
  • For other women, the labia minora have developed during adolescence ;
  • And for others, the extensive development of the labia minora means that following several births.

This hypertrophy of the vaginal lips can be an aesthetic, physical (for certain sports such as horse-riding or cycling) or clothing (tight pants, thongs, etc.) problem.

It results from excess skin or mucous membrane on the vaginal labia minora. Nymphoplasty removes this excess.

The Doctor Jeremy Djian is a plastic surgeon in Paris, where he performs this procedure.

LABIA MINORA REDUCTION OR LABIOPLASTY

This nymphoplasty surgery involves reducing the volume of the lips.

The intervention of intimate surgery is performed on an outpatient basis (same-day discharge from the clinic), under general anesthesia, for greater comfort. However, it can also be performed under local anesthesia in some cases.

Classically, there are two nymphoplasty techniques that allow the reducing small lips :

  • Longitudinal incision of the lips : The scar is on the free edge, so it has little contact with clothing and is therefore less exposed to rubbing. This reduces the risk of infection and speeds healing;
  • Triangular incision of the lips : The scar is placed internally. It presents an increased risk of disunion, is less aesthetic and the suture is generally more fragile.

For this reason, Dr Djian uses the longitudinal technique.

The aim of nymphoplasty is to reduce the size of the labia minora, while preserving their original shape.

The procedure takes between 30 and 45 minutes.

No nursing care is required after such surgery. However, impeccable personal hygiene is essential for proper healing. The intimate cleansing should be performed daily using a PH-neutral soap such as an intimate soap.

The intercourse and wearing tampons should be avoided until healing is complete, i.e. after at least 1 month. After this first month, it is still possible for the patient to have pain during intercourse sexual. If this is the case, we advise you to wait until the pain has disappeared. If they persist for more than a few months, you should consult your plastic surgeon.

Absorbable sutures disappear on their own, in just a few weeks.

Following the operation, the wearing clothes loose-fitting is recommended. Tights, tight underwear and pants should be avoided.
