Your Questions
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THIGH LIFTS
IS SCARRING INEVITABLE?
Yes.
Excess skin can only be treated with a scar. The liposuccion alone will not correct the skin problem. It would only make the problem worse.
The scar is "camouflaged" on the inner thigh. It is therefore invisible from the front or back.
It fades over time, but scars on the arms and thighs can sometimes be a little large.
The laser Urgotouch, If applied during the operation, it can improve the scarring result.
CAN A THIGH AND ARM LIFT BE DONE AT THE SAME TIME?
Technically, yes. However, it is not recommended to perform both surgeries at the same time.
Convalescence would be too long with a combination of arm lift plastic surgery and thighs.
In general, these two operations can be spaced about 3 months apart.
In addition, thesmoking cessation 1 month before and 1 month after surgery is also recommended.
PAIN AFTER CRUROPLASTY: WHAT TO EXPECT IN THE FIRST FEW DAYS AFTER SURGERY?
For the first few days, the pain is mainly related to skin tension and liposuctioned areas. It looks like deep aches and pains, These are accentuated when standing or moving the legs.
Painkillers are systematically prescribed, providing effective control. Discomfort when walking is common, but rapidly improves with the use of support panty. Pain diminishes significantly after 5 to 7 days, then becomes residual.
HOW DO YOU SLEEP AFTER CRUROPLASTY?
After a thigh lift, it is recommended to sleep lying on your back, legs slightly open, to avoid tension on the inside. Cushions or bolsters help stabilize the position and reduce night-time friction.
Sleeping on your side is not recommended at first, because it compresses the scars.
Good sleep hygiene and a comfortable position reduce pain and promote regular healing.
WHEN CAN A CRUROPLASTY BE PERFORMED?
Cruroplasty is indicated when weight loss has stabilized for at least 6 to 12 months.
The patient must not be in the active phase of dieting or have recently undergone bariatric surgery. The aim is to’act on long-lasting excess skin, not on a still variable fat volume.
A consultation is held to assess skin quality, history and weight maintenance. Cruroplasty is not a slimming solution.
HOW LONG DOES OEDEMA LAST AFTER CRUROPLASTY?
Edema appears almost systematically after the operation. It is maximum for the first 10 days, then gradually decreases.
Wearing a compression panty for 4 to 6 weeks limits swelling and promotes natural drainage.
Fluctuations are normal, especially after prolonged walking or at the end of the day. Edema may persist for up to 6 to 8 weeks, sometimes a little more, depending on the amount of skin removed and lymphatic condition.
CRUROPLASTY AND CONVALESCENCE: WHAT GESTURES AND POSITIONS SHOULD BE AVOIDED TO PROTECT SCARS?
You need avoid crossing your legs, crouch or pull the skin into extension, because the internal scar is fragile.
Repeated rubbing, tight clothing and early physical exertion create tension and increase the risk of scar opening or widening.
Walking calmly, keep the thighs slightly apart and wearing the prescribed panty are essential.
Sports exercises and heavy loads should be postponed for several weeks.
