Your Questions
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT RHINOPLASTY FOR MEN
AT WHAT AGE CAN A MAN UNDERGO RHINOPLASTY?
Male rhinoplasty is possible from the age of 17-18, once bone growth in the nose is complete.. Dr. Djian also assesses the patient's psychological maturity prior to any nose surgery, to ensure that the request is stable and well thought-out. A clear understanding of expectations is essential to guarantee a natural, harmonious result, without excessive correction.
CAN RHINOPLASTY BE PERFORMED IN SUMMER?
Yes, the procedure is possible in summer, provided that direct sunlight is avoided for 2 months.. Dr. Djian recommends strict UV protection to minimize the risk of pigmentation on scars and control swelling. It is also advisable to wear a hat during the first few weeks and to avoid extreme temperatures and prolonged swimming.
HOW LONG DOES A RHINOPLASTY PROCEDURE TAKE FOR A MAN?
A rhinoplasty for men lasts on average between 1h30 and 2h30, depending on the complexity of the nose and associated gestures (hump, tip, septum, asymmetry). Dr. Djian takes the time to adapt each gesture to the male morphology, to preserve a virile and balanced structure. The operation is performed under general anesthesia, either as an outpatient or with an overnight hospital stay.
SHOULD I STOP SMOKING BEFORE RHINOPLASTY?
Yes, smoking impairs wound healing and increases the risk of postoperative complications. Dr. Djian recommends stopping smoking at least 3 to 4 weeks before rhinoplasty, and continuing to do so after the operation. Nicotine reduces tissue oxygenation, which slows edema resorption and weakens the aesthetic result of nose surgery.
IS THE RESULT STABLE OVER TIME IN MEN?
Yes, a properly performed male rhinoplasty offers a stable, long-lasting result. Dr. Djian uses conservative techniques that preserve the structure of the nose and ensure long-term stability, even in cases of thick skin. Regular follow-up visits allow him to monitor postoperative progress and address any residual asymmetry or functional discomfort as needed.
