Your Questions
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT BREAST LIFT PRICES AND RESULTS
Is it possible to breastfeed after a breast lift?
Yes, in the vast majority of cases, breast-feeding is still possible because the mammary gland and milk ducts are preserved during mastopexy. However, it's important to note that a new pregnancy or breast-feeding may alter the appearance of your breasts once again, possibly cancelling out the benefits of the breast lift price invested. It is often advisable to’wait until the end of your maternity projects to stabilize the result.
What is the difference between mastopexy and breast ptosis treatment?
There are none. Mastopexy is the scientific medical term, while the breast ptosis treatment is the expression used in clinical practice to designate the breast lift. Both terms refer to surgery to remove excess skin and reshape glandular tissue to lift the breasts. The cost of a breast lift remains the same regardless of the term used on your surgical estimate.
Is the price of a breast lift for men higher?
In men, we generally speak of correction of gynecomastia or breast reduction after major weight loss, rather than a conventional facelift. Rates may vary depending on the need to combine liposuction with glandular resection.
If the skin excess is major, the technique is similar to the female mastopexy, with block charges and surgical fees comparable to the price ranges for a standard breast lift.
Can a breast lift be performed under local anaesthetic?
Mastopexy is a a long and meticulous operation which requires total muscular relaxation and absolute comfort for the patient. This is why it is almost systematically performed under general anaesthetic. Local anesthesia with sedation («neuroleptanalgesia») can sometimes be considered for very minor corrections or scar retouching, but this remains the exception to guarantee the safety and precision of the surgical procedure in the operating room.
How long do the results of a breast lift last?
The result of a facelift is long-lasting, but not eternal. Gravity, skin aging and weight changes continue to affect your body. By maintaining a stable weight and wearing a suitable bra, you can retain the benefits of your operation for 10 to 15 years. The price of a breast lift should therefore be seen as a financial investment. long-term investment for your well-being and your figure.
What medical examinations are required before surgery?
Prior to the operation, a mammography and/or breast ultrasound are prescribed to check for lesions in the gland. A blood test is also required by the anesthetist. These examinations are essential to guarantee your safety. Although not included in the surgeon's fee, they are generally covered by health insurance as part of the standard care pathway.
Can breast asymmetry be corrected with a facelift alone?
Exactly. If the’asymmetry is caused by one breast drooping more than the other, the surgeon will adapt the lift technique differently on each side to harmonize the breast. If the asymmetry also concerns volume, he may propose a breast lift without implants on one side and a reduction on the other, or the addition of implants of different sizes. The quote will then be personalized in line with this increased technical complexity.
Does tobacco influence the price or the operation?
Tobacco considerably increases risk of scarring complications and infection. Most surgeons require a total cessation of smoking one month before and after the procedure. If a patient continues to smoke, there is an increased risk of needing a surgical touch-up for poor scarring, which can lead to serious health problems. unforeseen additional costs (clinic fees for a repeat). Quitting smoking is therefore the best way to secure your result.
