Puffiness under the eyes and dark circles: what treatments are available?

EYE ANATOMY

A few anatomical basics to help you understand the reason for the’appearance of dark circles and pockets.

Under the eye is the lower eyelid. Beneath this is a fatty compartment. Over time, fatty pockets can develop within this compartment.

It's easy to identify fat pockets with a simple (light) pressure on the eyeball, which highlights the bags under the eyes.

Beneath the fatty pocket, a hollow may form: the dark circle.
